OVERVIEW
PROBLEM
Poison ivy exposure causes a weeks-long skin reaction with intense itching, inflammation, and blistering. Conventional treatments like corticosteroids, calamine, or antihistamines target only one symptom at a time and don't remove urushiol from the skin, making this a particular problem for outdoor workers and children.
PROBLEM
APPROACH
3 Leaf is a multi-layer healing patch that addresses poison ivy reactions on multiple fronts. A breathable outer layer allows ventilation, a hydrocolloid gel layer absorbs urushiol, and hydrocortisone reduces inflammation and itching. One version also uses microdart technology to puncture blisters, improving treatment absorption and reducing fluid buildup.
APPROACH
RESULTS
By combining ventilation, oil absorption, anti-inflammatory relief, and blister drainage in one patch, 3 Leaf simplifies treatment and can reduce healing time from roughly three weeks to about five days.
